Collaboration + Authenticity = Amazing 2016

What a year it has been.  The power of collaboration and staying authentic to our vision has resulted in the most amazing 2016 results we could only have imagined three years ago.  Our secret recipe of passion + professionalism + 'yes we can' leadership has allowed Racing Hearts to grow leaps and bounds.  Thank you for believing in our team, because one person's story, one's passion can only be stronger together.

AEDs for ALL kids!

"My Story" by Mary Nopachai, M.D. Mother of Alex, survivor of sudden cardiac arrest. It was winter break. Our family planned on spending the day at a children's park. As soon as we arrived, my 4 year old son, Alex, ran towards a slide and climbed up the ladder. Within minutes he collapsed on the slide's platform. I ran and caught him before he fell and pushed him onto the center of the platform. After climbing the ladder, I saw that he had stopped breathing and turned blue. Gripped with fear, I frantically called 911. I thought the end of the world had come.

My son was in sudden cardiac arrest and there was no defibrillator nearby. If a defibrillator had been present, he could have been shocked immediately to restart his heart. Instead I had to perform CPR on my son on top of that slide and wait for the firefighters to arrive. Ultimately with the firefighters' and paramedics' help, he was able to survive.

I hope that more individuals who are inflicted with this devastating cardiac condition can, too, have a second chance at life.

A bill ! A bill.....on Capital Hill !

In the 3 years since our little Racing Hearts has been around - there seems to be a new mindset towards AEDs.  And it feels like our team and efforts have helped to pioneer the way - especially helping to update California's AED legislation Senate Bill 658 which is now heading over to our Governor Jerry Brown's desk to sign (signed 9/3/15!)

This bill will have a huge benefit to every Californian and to our state overall, bringing more onsite AEDs to local communities.  We will share more when the this bill gets signed - but for now we are beaming with pride and will continue to expand our partnerships and support throughout the Bay Area.

And if you can help us here in Santa Clara County - we could use your muscle as the Board of Supervisors have challenged Racing Hearts and our community to find matching grants locally to help fund AEDs expansion in the county.  If you work for a company who offers matching grants for charitable donations - or if you know of other sources for funding, we'd love to hear from you.  Reach out anytime to
